The 36th World Congress of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG 2026) was recently held in London, UK. One of the key topics at ISUOG 2026 was the growing role of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in obstetrics, particularly in situations where rapid assessment can directly inform clinical decision-making.

During the POCUS OB Workshop & Scan Demonstration, Prof. Liona C. At ISUOG 2026, fetal cardiac masterclasses and live scanning demonstrations were among the highlights of SonoScape’s academic program, bringing together expert perspectives and hands-on experience in advanced fetal cardiac assessment.

At the same time, Prof. Zhiyun Tian from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), USA brought her masterclass, “Mastering Fetal Cardiac Imaging: From Expert Scanning to Diagnostic Confidence,” to the SonoScape Lounge. As a specialist in fetal cardiovascular imaging, Prof. Tian provided an in-depth, hands-on demonstration using SonoScape’s latest Autra Series, guiding participants through the expert approach to fetal cardiac scanning, from obtaining standard views to understanding how systematic scanning can contribute to greater diagnostic confidence.



Together, these expert-led sessions offered clinicians a closer look at both the art and methodology of fetal cardiac imaging, while demonstrating the role of advanced ultrasound platforms in supporting increasingly detailed fetal assessments.


Work Smarter: Empowering Clinical Decision-Making with AI and the S-Fetus Workflow




As ultrasound examinations become increasingly sophisticated, another question is gaining importance: how can technology help clinicians manage growing diagnostic demands without adding unnecessary complexity?

At the SonoScape-sponsored Lunch Symposium, Prof. Andrea Dall’Asta from Italy discussed the role of AI and advanced technologies in screening and referral. With the Next-Generation S-Fetus, SonoScape is advancing a shift in obstetric ultrasound from experience-dependent workflows toward more standardized and AI-assisted approaches, helping clinicians work more efficiently and consistently, while providing greater support and confidence in increasingly complex and demanding clinical settings.

Beyond the Masterclasses and Live Scan Demonstrations, the SonoElite Club brought a broad range of academic topics to ISUOG 2026, connecting 15 obstetric and gynecological ultrasound experts from the UK, Sweden, Australia, Egypt, China, the United States, Germany, and other countries and regions. Across dedicated sessions and clinical discussions, experts shared perspectives on some of the most relevant developments shaping women’s health ultrasound.

The program spanned a wide range of clinical areas, including obstetrics, gynecology, fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, endometriosis, twin pregnancy, fetal urinary tract abnormalities, fetal cardiac imaging, AI-enabled ultrasound workflows, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and microvascular imaging, reflecting the breadth of SonoScape’s approach to women’s health ultrasound.



In standardized gynecological assessment, Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene, Chair of the ISUOG Education Committee from Sweden, shared insights into the application of O-RADS for adnexal mass assessment and clinical management. Prof. George Condous, President of the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and a leading gynecological ultrasound expert from Australia, focused on the ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis based on the IDEA international consensus. His session explored standardized approaches to scanning and assessing deep endometriosis. By incorporating the IDEA Protocol into its ultrasound systems, SonoScape aims to bring internationally recognized standardized assessment pathways closer to routine clinical practice and support more consistent gynecological ultrasound examinations.



In the field of gynecologic tumor assessment, Prof. Xinling Zhang from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, China, shared clinical experience with contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the evaluation of adnexal tumors. In fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancy, Prof. Asma Khalil, ISUOG Trustee and Chair of the ISUOG Twins & Multiple Pregnancy Special Interest Group, Professor of Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at St George’s, University of London, addressed the diagnosis and management of selective fetal growth restriction (sFGR) in twin pregnancies, as well as ongoing areas of debate. Her presentation covered the selection of growth charts, monitoring of intertwin weight differences, classification of sFGR in monochorionic twins, and prognostic assessment, offering an international perspective on the increasingly detailed management of high-risk twin pregnancies.



Prof. Mohamed Kamal Etman, ISUOG Ambassador in Middle East & North Africa from Egypt, focused on fetal urinary tract abnormalities, presenting a systematic approach spanning normal anatomy, abnormality classification, and diagnostic assessment. AI was another important area of discussion. Prof. Liqun Sun from the Women’s Hospital School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, China, explored the clinical applications of AI in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound.
